Iran, Moldova to Expand Mutual Cooperation

MOSCOW - Iran's Ambassador to Russia and Accredited Ambassador in Moldova Mehdi Safari and Moldovan Prime Minister Ivan Chibok in Kishinev on Thursday surveyed latest developments related to expansion of mutual cooperation. The two sides at the meeting underlined further expansion of bilateral relations in all areas and implementing the mutual reached agreements. Safari stressed the need for speedy convention of the second Tehran-Kishinev joint commission session in Tehran and assigning Moldovan head of the commission.
He said that the two countries can cooperate in inaugrating the production lines of tractors, peugeot 1600 cars and detergents and in trade of oil. The two sides can also have trilateral cooperation with one of the members of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Chibok underlined expansion of cooperation in the field of industries and said that he is ready to probe into all the issues raised in their meetings.
Yet in another development, Safari and Moldovan Foreign Minister Tebakaro Nikolai survyed the upcoming visit to Moldova of Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi. Nikolai called on Iranian government to invest in Lakobi, which is soon to be put in the list of free trade zones in Moldova. Safari and Deputy Moldovan Premier Valentin Dolganyuk on Thursday exchanged views on issues related to mutual investment.
Safari called on Moldovan Industries Minister to attend the Tehran International Trade Fair, which is to be held in Tehran from October The two sides at the meeting agreed on visit to Tehran of a group of Moldovan Farsi language students to pursue studies in the M.A. level of Farsi language and literature. In his meeting with Moldovan Parliament Chairman Dimitro Dyankov, Safari said that Iran is keen on expanding parliamentary cooperation with Moldova. Dyankov expressed satisfaction with growing cooperation between Iran and Moldova and said the ground is positive for further expansion of bilateral ties.
Safari invited Moldovan parliamentarian to pay an official visit to Tehran in fall season. In another meeting, Safari and Chancellor of Moldovan State University explored ways of exchanging students and offering scholarships and more facilities for Iranian students studying in Moldova. (IRNA)
